Provider guidelines

Simple rules that keep Brouz fair and safe for everyone: what you can offer, how listings are checked, and how to handle bookings.

On this page

1. Before you start

Anyone with a real skill can offer it on Brouz. You need:

  • A mobile number to sign in.
  • Your PAN. It’s checked once and stored encrypted. A PAN can be linked to only one Brouz account.
  • A UPI ID or bank account in your own name for payouts. If the name on it doesn’t match your PAN, payouts are paused until our team checks it — your listings and bookings carry on as normal.
  • An address you serve from, in Chennai. Customers only ever see its area name, never the address itself.

2. Writing a good listing

  • Start with “I can…” and say exactly what you do: “I can stitch blouses with lining”, not “Tailoring”.
  • Pick the category that fits best. If none does, choose Other and describe it in your own words.
  • Use your own photos of your real work. No photos copied from the internet.
  • Set a clear price, and turn on quantity pricing (per kg, per piece, per day…) or delivery only if you really offer it.
  • Keep your available dates up to date, so you only get requests you can take.
  • Choose your cancellation terms honestly, and write anything unusual in your description.
  • Don’t put phone numbers, emails, UPI IDs, links or social media handles in your listing.

3. What you can’t offer

  • Anything illegal in India.
  • Adult or indecent services, or anything suggestive dressed up as another service.
  • Anything that needs a licence or registration you don’t have.
  • Scams, fake services, or listings made to collect money or personal details.
  • Services that put people or animals at risk.
  • Hate, harassment, or content that insults any person or group.

4. How listings are checked

  • Every new listing is checked before it goes live, and some are reviewed by our team. You get a notification when it’s approved or not.
  • If a listing is rejected, you’ll see why. Fix it and submit it again.
  • Editing a live listing sends it back for a quick check. It’s hidden from search until it’s approved again.
  • A listing goes live only after your PAN is verified.

5. Handling bookings

  • Accept or decline each request in time. If you don’t reply, the request is cancelled automatically.
  • After the customer pays, tap “Start work” in time. If you don’t, the booking is cancelled and the customer gets a full refund.
  • The customer can still cancel for a short while after you tap “Start work”, so do the real work only after that window has passed.
  • If a customer cancels while you’re working, stop straight away. The app will show a “Stop work” alert until you confirm.
  • Tap “Done” when you’ve finished. The customer has 3 days to confirm; after that, it completes automatically and you’re paid.
  • Deliver what your listing says, at the price it shows. The price and terms the customer booked with always apply, even if you change the listing later.

6. Chat and payments

  • Keep every conversation and every payment on Brouz. Phone numbers, emails, UPI IDs and links are hidden in chat automatically.
  • Never ask for cash, an advance or payment to your own UPI. Money paid outside Brouz isn’t protected, for you or the customer.
  • Be polite and reply quickly. Customers who get a reply are far more likely to book.
  • Repeated attempts to share contact details or take payment outside are reviewed by our team.

7. Ratings

  • After a completed booking, you and the customer rate each other. Neither of you sees the other’s rating until both have rated, so ratings stay honest.
  • Never ask for a good rating in return for a discount, and never rate a booking that didn’t really happen.

8. If the rules are broken

We may remove a listing or pause an account that breaks these guidelines or our Terms of Service. For serious or repeated breaches, a person on our team — never an automated check — can give a strike:

  • First strike: a warning.
  • Second strike: your account is suspended for a while. You can’t create listings or take new bookings.
  • Third strike: a permanent ban. The phone number can’t be used on Brouz again.

Bookings that are already paid carry on as normal, so customers are never left stranded.

If you think a decision is wrong, write to info@brouz.in.
