1. About these terms
Brouz is run by Brouz Hyperlocal Services Private Limited, 6/31, 2nd Main Road, Murugan Nagar, Kolathur, Chennai – 600099 ("Brouz", "we", "us"). These terms apply when you use the Brouz app or the brouz.in website.
Brouz is an online marketplace. It connects people who offer a service ("providers") with people nearby who want it ("customers"). The provider, not Brouz, does the work and is responsible for it. Brouz provides the platform, holds payments safely and helps when something goes wrong.
By creating an account, listing a service or booking one, you agree to these terms, our Privacy Policy and our Refunds & Cancellation policy.
2. Who can use Brouz
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a contract under Indian law.
- You sign in with your mobile number and a one-time password. One account per phone number.
- The same account can book services and offer services. You can switch between the two in the app, but you cannot book your own service.
- Brouz is available in Chennai, India. All prices and payments are in Indian rupees (₹).
3. Offering a service
- Every listing is checked before it goes live. We may reject, pause or remove a listing that breaks these terms, our Provider guidelines or the law.
- Providers must verify their PAN before a listing can go live, and add a UPI ID or bank account in their own name before they can be paid.
- Providers set their own prices, availability and cancellation terms, and must describe their service honestly.
- Providers are responsible for any licence or registration their service needs (for example FSSAI registration for food), and for paying their own taxes. Brouz deducts tax at source where the law requires it.
- Brouz charges providers a commission on completed bookings: 10% of the order amount, or 8.99% on a Brouz Plus or Pro plan. Joining and listing are free. See our Pricing page.
4. Bookings and payments
- A customer sends a request for a date. The provider accepts or declines it in the app.
- Once accepted, the customer pays in the app through our payments partner, Razorpay (UPI, cards, net banking and wallets). Brouz holds the money; the provider does not receive it yet.
- The price, any delivery charge and the cancellation terms are the ones shown when the customer books, even if the provider changes the listing later.
- At checkout the customer also pays a service charge of 3% of the order amount. It is shown before paying and is not refundable.
- When the provider marks the work done, the customer has 3 days to confirm it or raise a problem. If they do neither, the booking is completed automatically.
- On completion, the provider is paid the order amount minus Brouz’s commission and any tax deducted. Payments must never be made outside Brouz.
5. Brouz Plus and Pro
Providers can buy a monthly plan — Brouz Plus (₹299 a month) or Brouz Pro (₹499 a month). A plan is a one-off payment for one calendar month through Razorpay. It does not renew automatically, and you can renew from the app.
- What each plan includes is shown in the app before you pay. A plan payment is not refundable once the plan has started.
- If a plan is not renewed, your listings stay live for a short grace period. After that, live listings above the free plan’s limit are paused until you renew or choose which ones to keep.
- An upgrade during the month gives credit for the unused part of the current plan, shown before you pay.
6. Cancellations and refunds
How cancellations and refunds work is set out in our Refunds & Cancellation policy, which forms part of these terms. How services are delivered is set out in our Service Delivery policy.
7. If something goes wrong
If the work was not done, was not what was agreed, or the provider did not turn up, the customer can raise a problem in the app before confirming. The money stays on hold while the Brouz team reviews it.
We look at the booking, the chat and anything both sides send us, and decide how the held money is split — a full refund, a partial refund, or payment to the provider. This does not affect your rights under consumer protection law.
8. Help and support chat
Chat with Brouz (Profile → Help & Support in the app, and the chat button on brouz.in) is for questions about Brouz. An automated assistant answers first. It can explain how Brouz works and, in the app, look up your own orders, payouts and listings. It can make mistakes, and what it says does not change these terms or the cancellation terms of a booking.
The assistant cannot refund, cancel, raise or decide a problem, or change your account. You do those yourself in the app, and the Brouz team decides problems. You can ask for a person from the Brouz team at any time.
Support chat is not always available. When it is not, write to info@brouz.in. Never share a one-time password, PIN or card number in the chat.
9. Your responsibilities
- Give true information and keep your account secure.
- Keep chats and payments on Brouz. Phone numbers, emails, UPI IDs and links are hidden in chat, and payments made outside Brouz are not covered by refunds or problem resolution.
- Providers: do the work you accepted, and start the work only after tapping “Start work”.
- Do not post or share anything that is illegal, false or misleading, harmful to children, obscene, defamatory, invades someone’s privacy, infringes someone’s copyright or trademark, contains viruses, impersonates someone, or threatens India’s unity, security or public order.
We may warn, suspend or close accounts that break these terms. Repeated or serious breaches can lead to a permanent ban.
10. Your content and ours
You keep ownership of the photos and text you add. You allow Brouz to show them on the app and the website to run and promote your listing.
The Brouz name, logo, app and website belong to Brouz. Do not copy them, or copy listings in bulk, without our written permission.
To report content that infringes your rights, write to info@brouz.in.
11. Our role and liability
Providers are independent. They are not employees or agents of Brouz. Brouz does not guarantee the quality of any service, but we check listings, hold payments until work is confirmed and step in when a problem is raised.
To the extent the law allows, Brouz is not liable for indirect losses arising from a service booked through Brouz, and our total liability for a booking is limited to the amount paid to Brouz for it.
12. Complaints
Contact us through Chat with Brouz in the app, at info@brouz.in or +91 73056 83220. If you are not satisfied, write to our Grievance Officer, Ashik Basheer, at ashik@brouz.in. We acknowledge complaints within 48 hours and aim to resolve them within 15 days.
13. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms. We will show the new date at the top of this page, and tell you in the app about important changes. Bookings already made follow the terms that applied when they were made.
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in Chennai have jurisdiction.
