How to write an “I can…” line that customers understand
Every listing on Brouz starts with two words: “I can…”. What you write next is the first thing customers read in search results. Often it is the only thing they read before they decide to open your listing. Here is how to write a good one.
1.Say the work, not your job title
“Tailor” only tells people who you are. “I can stitch blouses with lining” tells them what you will do for them. That is what they are looking for.
2.Be specific
Say exactly what you do, for whom, or how. A clear line feels trustworthy. It also brings you the customers you really want.
| Instead of | Try |
|---|---|
| Tailoring | I can stitch blouses with lining and padding |
| Cooking | I can cook South Indian lunch tiffin for office-goers |
| Tuition | I can teach Class 10 maths for CBSE and State Board |
| Cleaning | I can deep-clean kitchens, including the chimney and tiles |
| Mehendi | I can apply bridal mehendi on hands and feet |
3.Use the words your customers use
Brouz search looks for every word a customer types. If people near you say “tiffin”, write tiffin — not “meal service”. If they ask for “saree fall and pico”, write that.
Words in your description are searched too. So list everything you do: “blouse stitching, alterations, saree fall, pico, kids’ frocks”.
4.Keep it to one line
Your line should be easy to read on a small phone screen. Put the details in the description below it — what is included, how long it takes, and what the customer needs to give you.
5.Don’t add prices or contact details
Your price is already shown below your line, so you don’t need to write it again. Phone numbers, UPI IDs, links and social media names are not allowed in listings. Customers contact you through Brouz chat, where both of you are protected.
In short
- Start with the work: “I can stitch…”, “I can teach…”.
- Say exactly what you do, for whom, or how.
- Use the words your customers use.
- Keep it to one line. The details go in the description.
- No prices, phone numbers or links in it.
Questions about listings
Can I write my listing in Tamil?
Yes. Write the way your customers talk — English, Tamil, or Tamil words in English letters, like “saapadu”. Many people search in English, so also add the common English word.
Can I offer more than one service?
Yes. Make a separate listing for each service, with its own line, photos and price.
Can I change my line later?
Yes. Edit your listing in the app. Brouz checks the new line before it shows to customers.
