A carpenter can’t tell you the price of fixing your wardrobe until they see it. Neither can a painter, a plumber or someone fixing your washing machine. On Brouz, these listings show “From ₹299 · final price after visit”. This guide explains what you pay first, how the final price reaches you, and when money comes back.

What “final price after visit” means

Most listings on Brouz have a fixed price or an hourly rate. But some jobs are different every time. A leaking pipe may need a new washer or a whole new line. A room may need one coat of paint or three. For these jobs, the provider sets a minimum charge — the lowest it can be — and tells you the real price once they have seen the work.

The final price is never less than the minimum, and it is always sent to you inside the app, with a short note on what is included. You decide whether to go ahead.

How it works, step by step

  1. 1Request the jobPick a date and send a request from the listing, like any other booking.
  2. 2The provider acceptsThey also choose where the visit happens — usually at your home.
  3. 3Pay the minimumYou pay the minimum charge plus the service charge. Brouz holds this money safely.
  4. 4The visitThe provider sees the job and talks it through with you.
  5. 5The final price arrives in the appWith a short note on what is included. You have a set time to answer — the app shows how long.
  6. 6Accept and pay the restYou pay the difference between the final price and the minimum. Then work begins.
TipAgree on the price face to face during the visit, then check that the price in the app is the same before you accept. If it isn’t, ask in chat before you tap anything.

If you say no to the price

You can decline the final price, or simply not answer in time. Either way, the order is cancelled. What happens to the minimum depends on where the visit happened:

Where the visit wasIf you decline the price
At your homeThe minimum is the provider’s visit fee — they came to you, so they keep it.
At the provider’s placeThe minimum is refunded — you made the trip.
The service charge is never refunded, whichever way it goes.

The app always tells you, before you pay, whether the minimum can come back. For every other case, see Cancellations on Brouz, simply explained.

Your money stays protected

Both payments — the minimum and the rest — are held by Brouz, not paid straight to the provider. The provider is paid only after the work is marked done and you have had time to check it. Read more in Your money is safe.

If something goes wrong — for example, the provider never came but kept the visit fee — you can raise a dispute from the order page, and a person from Brouz looks at it.

Jobs where this works well

  • Repairs: plumbing, electrical faults, AC and appliance repair
  • Carpentry and furniture work
  • Painting and damp walls
  • Large cleaning jobs, where the size of the home matters
  • Decorations, where the venue decides the cost

Are you a provider wondering which price type to choose? Read Fixed, hourly or price after visit?

In short

  • You pay a small minimum to book the visit.
  • After seeing the job, the provider sends the final price in the app.
  • Nothing more is charged until you accept it.
  • If you say no, the visit fee rules decide what comes back.
  • Your money is held by Brouz until the work is done.

Questions customers ask

Can the final price be lower than the minimum?

No. The minimum is the lowest the job can cost. If the job turns out small, the final price can be the same as the minimum, and you pay nothing more.

Can the provider change the price after I accept?

No. Once you accept and pay the rest, that price is agreed. Before you accept, the provider can send a changed price a few times — you always see the latest one.

What if I don’t answer in time?

Not answering counts as saying no, and the order is cancelled under the visit fee rules above. The app shows how long you have.

Do I pay a service charge on the second payment too?

Yes, the service charge is worked out on each payment, and it is not refunded.
